January 2009 - The Netherlands

10 collégiens et 20 lycéens de notre école partenaire de Sillé-le-Guillaume accompagnés de 4 adultes ont effectué vers la mi-janvier 2009 un périple européen. La première étape a amené les élèves français le mercredi, 13 janvier à Schengen où ils ont interviewé Madame Martina Kneip, la coordinatrice touristique de ce village luxembourgeois qui a donné son nom aux « accords de Schengen », accords qui ont permis d’abolir les frontières entre les pays membres de l’Union Européenne.

14th of January 2009: Comenius visit - France to Wiltz

On  January 14th 2009 our Comenius friends from Sillé-le-Guillaume in France visited Wiltz. The pupils from Sillé and from Wiltz had a round table discussion about culture in rural areas in the studio of Radio LNW . The responsible persons from "Cooperation Wiltz" and from the "Syndicat d`Initiative de Wiltz" had been invited to take part to the  discussion. After having made the recordings our french friends had dinner at the restaurant of the "Lycée du Nord". They spent the night in the youth hostel in Lultzhausen before leaving the next morning together with some Luxembourgish pupils to discover the Netherlands.

Description

We (Kelly, Vanessa, Guénaelle and Lynn) went to Ireland from Wednesday 16th to Monday 21st May, this trip was part of the Comenius Project we are taking part in this year.

We took the plane in Charlerois on Wednesday evening and we landed in Dublin an hour and a half later. While we were looking for the youth hostel, it was raining, typical Irish weather. On Thursday we went on a hop-on hop-off tour through Dublin which was very interesting and fortunately it didn't rain. We were allowed to go shopping in the afternoon and the weather was really sunny and warm, which we were not used to. We went to the famous „ Grafton Street “, where we spent a lot of money. In the evening we wanted to go out but the rules in Irland are stricter than in Luxembourg ; there was no chance to get into any of the pubs or discos because you are not allowed in when you are under 18.

Introduction

Between January 11th and January 14th, 2007 the pupils and teachers from the luxembourgish comenius group have visited the Romanian comenius group from Smaranda Gheorgiu school in Targoviste.

On Thursday morning we took the airplane from Luxembourg to Paris and then changing the airplane to Bucharest. During one hour we were driven to Targoviste. In Targoviste live about 90.000 habitants. Targoviste is situated about 100 km in the northwest of Bucharest.

Mayor

On Friday morning in the city hall of Targoviste the vicemayor of Targoviste architecte Dumitru BARBU gave us a lot of information about Targoviste. We asked a lot of questions and we have had an interesting dialogue with the vicemayor.
