Between January 11th and January 14th, 2007 the pupils and teachers from the luxembourgish comenius group have visited the Romanian comenius group from Smaranda Gheorgiu school in Targoviste.
On Thursday morning we took the airplane from Luxembourg to Paris and then changing the airplane to Bucharest. During one hour we were driven to Targoviste. In Targoviste live about 90.000 habitants. Targoviste is situated about 100 km in the northwest of Bucharest.
Mayor
On Friday morning in the city hall of Targoviste the vicemayor of Targoviste architecte Dumitru BARBU gave us a lot of information about Targoviste. We asked a lot of questions and we have had an interesting dialogue with the vicemayor.
School
On Friday afternoon we have been invited to the Smaranda Gheorgiu school in Targoviste. The pupils which are aged between 8 and 15 years show us traditional and modern dances and present us a lot of songs. Mister Troian has had an interesting dialogue with the pupils in french and english language as you can see on the photograph. Mélanie and Nadine made interviews with the teachers and pupils and they made recordings which you can hear very soon on Radio LNW. We have also learned the most important words in rumanian language. Mister Schauls was installing a software to make sound recordings in good quality on the computer. He gave information about the installation and operation of the software to do voice recordings and to cut and to amplify the recordings.
Chindiei Tower
In the late afternoon we have visited the Chindiei Tower in Targoviste. It was built by Vlad III the Impaler. He is also known as Vlad Dracula. It is considered as a symbol of the city. In the English-speaking world, Vlad is best known for the legends of the exceedingly cruel punishments he imposed during his reign, and consequently serving as the inspiration for the vampire main character in Bram Stoker 's popular Dracula novel.
Castle
On saturday we have visited a few castles.
Bran Castle
On saturday afternoon we arrived at the famous Bran Castle. It is said to have been one of Dracula's homes. Dracula's real name was Vlad Tzepesh, he was a cruel but talented leader who punished his enemies by spiking them. No one never knows how much truth is in those stories, but the castle itself is eerie and very weird.
Winter sport
On saturday evening we arrived at Bustemi where people can make winter sport.

On sunday morning it was time to say goodbye and to exchange the given.
Airport
After driving from Targoviste to Bucharest we took the airplane to Paris and then changing the airplane to Luxembourg. We have finished our visit with a car trip to Wiltz.
