We took the plane in Charlerois on Wednesday evening and we landed in Dublin an hour and a half later. While we were looking for the youth hostel, it was raining, typical Irish weather. On Thursday we went on a hop-on hop-off tour through Dublin which was very interesting and fortunately it didn't rain. We were allowed to go shopping in the afternoon and the weather was really sunny and warm, which we were not used to. We went to the famous „ Grafton Street “, where we spent a lot of money. In the evening we wanted to go out but the rules in Irland are stricter than in Luxembourg ; there was no chance to get into any of the pubs or discos because you are not allowed in when you are under 18.
On Friday morning we visited Trinity College and its amazing old library. In the afternoon we went back to the airport to hire 2 cars to go to Ballinamore, which was around 250 kilometres away. We checked into our hotel and then we, girls had diner at the Chinese restaurant which was opposite our hotel. At the time we finished eating our meal, our Irish friend, Finbar, came in and we were more than surprised because we did not expect to meet him there. Later Nora and a friend of hers came too and we were all happy to see each other again. We laughed a lot and even the chef of the restaurant gave us a dessert for free. Lynn was invited to stay the night at Nora's house.
Unfortunately Nora and Finbar had to work the next morning, so we went to Sligo without them. The seaside was amazing and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. We had the opportunity to do some shopping too and then we drove home to the hotel again. In the evening, Nora took us out to Ballyconnell which was 20 km away from Ballinamore. We went through some pubs but we didn't spend much time there because we were tired and returned to the hotel. The next morning Nora came to our hotel to record her impressions about her stay in Wiltz for the radio and we all did some interviews. After this, we drove to the school of Ballinamore where Finbar finally showed up (he overslept). They showed us their school which is divided into3 buildings. We had lunch in a pub where we said farewell. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Nora and Finbar which wasn't very easy because we had become friends during the time they spent in Luxembourg and the time we spent in Ireland . After lunch we drove back to Dublin . The next day we flew back to Luxembourg with a lot of new unforgettable memories.
