Presentations

The Comenius coordinator Maisy Berscheid opened the Comenius meeting in Wiltz at 8 o`clock.

The pupils have been integrated into the families of the luxembourgish pupils and the teachers have been accommodated into different local hotels.

The students of each country presentated their country and their schools ...

School

After the presentations the pupils and teachers assisted in different classes during one hour. They have been integrated into the course and the students from the different countries had interesting dialogues about differences between the countries.

The guests have been invited to visit school classes as well as the different laboratories, the workshops, the library and the information technology halls.

At 12 o`clock it was lunch time at the school restaurant where we have been served by other pupils. Thanks a lot to the pupils who have done this service in their leisure time.

Wiltz

The teachers and pupils from France, Germany, Ireland, Romania, Spain and Turkey arrived on Thuesday. The luxembourgish teachers made the transport by cars between the different airports and Wiltz.

After the lunch-time the pupils and teachers visited Wiltz. The luxembourgish pupils made a guided tour to the "Place des Martyres", the castel, the "Grand-rue" and the church.

School restaurant

We have had lunch at the school restaurant where we have been served by other pupils. Thanks a lot to the pupils who have done this in their leisure time.

City hall

In the evening we have been invited by the community of Wiltz. The mayor of Wiltz Romain Schneider and Pierre Koppes from the local council as well as Maisy Berscheid the coordinator of the Comenius project and the headmaster of the school in Wiltz Jo Troian have been welcoming us and they told us a lot about Wiltz, the school and the local radio station.

Dinner

At the dinner in a restaurant a lot of gifts and kisses have been exchanged.

Brewery Simon

At the end of the tour the pupils and teachers visited the local brewery of Wiltz. The leader has given a lot of information und the luxembourgish pupils translated the spoken words into english and french language.

At the end of the day the first impressions of our guests have been recorded at the school radio "Radio LNW". At 6 o`clock the pupils took the busses to join their guest families.

Maradasson and exhibition in Bastogne

We visited the Second War Memory Monument in Bastogne in Belgium about the Battle of the Bulge ("Ardennenoffensive") and the museum which is named "I was 20 in Bastogne in the year 1945". The guide Roby Clam gave us a lof of information in english and french language.

Castle in Vianden

In the afternoon we have been visiting the castle in Vianden. A guided tour in french and english language has been made by official guides.

Radio LNW

At 8 o`clock the recordings of the first impressions of our guests have been finished. A lot of "Comenius-Jingles" have been made. In further broadcasts those jingles in different languages are used between the different audio contributions.

On Friday morning we have been at the school radio "Radio LNW". The pupils of the different countries choosed a music song from their country. The text has been translated into english language by the pupils. A summary of the principal ideas of the song has been made by the pupils of the different countries. After preparing the texts the recordings have been made.

Climbing in Lultzhausen

After lunch-time at the school restaurant we have been visiting the sport center in Lultzhausen. The sport teachers Marcel Duhautpas, Robert Thillens and Guy Moyano gave us security information and advices how to climb a wall. After that everyone of us tried to climb the different walls.

The most people have been wearing sport clothings and sport shoes which is important for a successful climbing. If not, the following could happen ...

Casemattes

Natasha Schweitzer, a french teacher at our school, made a guided tour through the "Casemates" in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg-City

Early on Saturday morning we leaved Wiltz by train to Luxembourg ...

We took the "hop on hop off" bus in Luxembourg city. With earphones we followed the explanations about the buildings and the history of Luxembourg during driving through Luxembourg.

We have visited the MUDAM ("Musée d`Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean") in Luxembourg.

In the early afternoon we took the train to Wiltz.

Prabbeli

In the culture center "Prabelli" in Wiltz the responsables of the luxembourgish Comenius Team, Maisy Berscheid, José Schaack, Pascale Zey, Dean Schauls and Jo Troian thanked a lot the parents for their hospitality, the students for their excellent work and all the other people for their aid.
